Life Unusual : 05 Apr 2020
These are unusual times, but, "where there's a will, there's a way" the saying goes. The will for what then?
The will to see this through "the other side", the will to survive. Perhaps it's about focusing our strength where it matters most. For some, it could be redirecting their lives. For others, resisting temptation and enhancing, even (re-?)discovering self-control. Oscar Wilde said "I can resist everything except temptation."
Maybe it's about keeping faith when they falter. O, Wisdom of Life ~ where art thou? Roy F. Baumeister & John Tierney's book "Willpower" is a compelling read.

Sometimes we are devils to ourselves,
When we will tempt the frailty of our powers,
Presuming on their changeful potency.
~ Troilus, in Shakespeare's Troilus and Cressida
Take care, stay safe folks.
